Substantially dry with good sun across England, tending to be cloudier
in the west Good morning, A high pressure ridge graces Britain with
good sun breaks most of the day. Some patchy rain in the southeast
may be around early, but this clearing by midday. Some possibility
of a few fleeting spots of rain drifting into west Scotland later.
High temperatures will reach 24C central England, around 20C most
eastern coasts, only up to 17C on northwest coasts. Tending to be
cloudier in Ireland, best of the sun spells in the east. As the day
goes, patchy rain arrives onto western areas, increasingly slipping
inland. Highs here reaching 17 to 21C. The real action occurs overnight
as a front moves eastward across Scotland and northern England. Rain
sets in after nightfall across western areas, increasingly persistent
and pushing inland through the overnight hours. Rain likely falls
heavy for a time on western areas of hills and mountains, particularly
west Scotland. Rain will
likely be more patchy across Ireland and central England where the
front is weaker. Southern England may only see fleeting spots of rain,
but it will become cloudy nonetheless. Lows will reach 12 to 13C most
of England, 15 to 17C elsewhere.
