A band of rain brings rain to Wales and northern England much of the
day. Drier away from here but often cloudy. Good morning, A keen
south-southwesterly wind blows across England most of the day. A band
of rain borders this area of stronger wind, stretching from southwest
England through Wales and into northern England. This rain will linger
most of the day and a few heavy spells are likely, particularly near
coasts and upland areas. Highs will reach 8 to 11C in these areas.
In Scotland, a largely dry but cloudy day, some showers in the northwest;
similar conditions in Ireland, though perhaps a few brighter spells.
These regions also less windy, perhaps quite calm. Cooler here with
highs from 6 to 8C. Into nighttime, the band of rain will continue
to drift eastward into England, though weakening and turning patchy
as it goes. Winds will ease as the rain pushes east. Western areas
remain dry, only some scattered showers blowing onto the west coasts.
Cloud may well b
egin breaking in these areas, where lows may drop to 1 to 3C. Warmer
in England, particularly east where lows only drooping to 7 to 9C.
